Curry houses and more photos

I've just been sent a few tips on Kidlington from Nanu, a friend of mine at the football club (the mighty Mansfield Road FC) who lives in Kidlington. It's always useful to get a few inside tips, on good pubs, curry houses, etc. though apprently, the issue of 'best curry house'is, as Nanu puts it, a divisive issue.

There are (I think) only two curry houses in Kidlington, the Ovisher Tandoori and Tiffins Tandoori. Now, given the obviously extremely sensitive nature of this issue, I obviously wouldn't be so crass as to reveal Nanu's preference, but he's definitely decided on one. Now, Mr.John (Fashanu) Pilbeam (former colleague of mine and now resident in Kidlington), on the other hand, firmly favours the other. Now, these are both fine curry connoisseurs, whose opinion I trust. But if their advice is contradictory, what's a man to do? Also, there's the issue of criteria. What factors decide the 'best' curry house? Is it simply who has the best food, or could inferior food be successfully mitigated by low-price, good service etc?

Off-hand, I think the criteria should be:

  • quality of food
  • value for money
  • quality of service
  • atmosphere and ambiance

But of course, how these criteria are weighed against each other is dependent on whether it's a takeaway or a restaurantmeal. This is clearly a complicated issue, requiring extensive research. Anyone for a ruby?
I've also added some photos of our samayac trip to the photos section today, so if you're interested, take a look..
