Welcome to 2004, come on in, sit down, fancy a brew?
Well, it's another year. I don't believe in making New year's resolutions as such, because obviously it just an opportunity to commit to something that you're never going to keep up, and just end up hating yourself when you inevitably lapse in what you were trying to do or refrain from doing.
However, that said, I have found it useful to have a vague goal for the year. Admittedly, these have been easy to think up the last couple of years ('get married' and 'buy a house' being clearly defined, if not entirely simple goals).
So what should be my overarching goal of 2004? And no, it's not going to involve making babies, (though maybe it should be, sperm counts are plummiting according to BBC News, though I'm not sure they're talking about me specifically...)
I'd like my goal to be 'do something interesting'. The problem with this is that the point of having a goal is to give you focus and purpose, and 'do something interesting' is somewhat vague. So what interesting thing should I do?
Maybe the first I should do is add a comment facillity to the site so I can collect suggestions?
Anyway, I'll muse upon this a little, and come back to it, in the meantime, here's wishing everyone a positive new year...
