For some time I've been mulling over whether or not to get an iPod (a decision made easier to delay because currently I don't have the money for one...). However, at some point I'm due some back pay, and this would go some way to finacing the purchase of that most desireable of gadgets.
Now, I appreciate a cool gadget as much as the next bloke, but I'm not as obsessed as some. Also, it recently occurred to me that most of what I wanted an iPod for could simply be achieved with iTunes.
I mostly listen to music at my desk. I mostly cycle to work, and while the idea of listening to music while cycling is appealling, the reality would probably see me killed or maimed within the month...
The main reason I'd want an iPod is to compile compilations and play random selections from my collection, which I now realise you can do with iTunes (yes I know that's obvious, I'd never given it much thought). So that's that sorted then, I can use the backpay for more sensible purposes whenever it finally arrives.
And then this week Apple launch the iPod mini. Rats.
It's cheaper, it's really quite compact and it comes in five different colours. So now I'm very tempted, even though it's not that much cheaper, and actually all the colours look nasy except the silver finish.
But I still want one.
