The Pixies have confirmed that they are reforming, and more importantly, playing gigs in the UK.
I've got slightly mixed feelings about this, after all, there was a reason they broke up in the first place, and I'm not sure what their reason is for re-forming (a friend of mine says it's because Dave Lovering can't find any other work, but that's probably just him being cruel...)
Also, the reason that the Pixies are so well thought of is that they quit while they were ahead (and only just, Trompe Le Monde was, well, you know, okaaay...).
So will they be any good? I imagine the gigs will sell out quickly, and the festival sets will involve some very crowded fields. But will such expectation create an electric atmosphere, or a bitter anti-climax? Will they blow everyone away, or will it be, y'know, not quite the same (not that I ever got to see the live, but hey...)?
Damned if I know, but I intend to find out, if I can get tickets...
