As you may be aware, Heather and I are off to Cameroon for a year in July.
Why's that? I hear you say. Well, I'll tell you.
We're going to be volunteering for a small NGO called Helps international (Hint).
Hint's mission is to improve the social and economic well-being and health of the poor and underprivileged in the local society though education, skills development and job creation.
They have an established a community computer training project, and are looking to set up an HIV clinic which will be involved in HIV and AIDS education and awareness in local community and faith-based organisations.
Heather's going to be working with the HIV clinic.
I am going to be working with the computer training project, as well as helping set their website up for donations, and also looking into setting up Hint as an ISP, as well as setting up a network of Linux workstations.
So if anyone knows anything about online donation services, Linux, or setting up ISP's - help!
Also, we're doing this on an entirely voluntary basis, Hint can't afford to pay us. We're funding ourselves entirely with sponsorship from friends and family, so if anyone can spare some change (govn'r), we'd be most grateful...
We'll be away for a year, starting on July 15th. We're renting our house out and because of Health and Safety regulations, we won't be able to leave our ageing, brown (and allegedly highly flammable) three-piece suite in the house. It's quite shabby, but I'm quite attached to it, so if anyone want so th babysit it for a year, i'd be most grateful.
Otherwise, we'll just have to test exactly how flammable that baby is...

When you test its flamabilty please document the research and place pictures on the blog. Thanks.
